| Infinite Soundworlds — Steve has long experimented with slowly-moving, deeply subtle and infinitely satisfying long-form soundscapes. The titles below were selected as a family of releases that especially work in repeat playback mode, creating a rarified environment for the living space. They support the enhancement of sustained creative states of many kinds, as well as the activation of Hypnagogic states and sleeping. They are either single long-form pieces or a continuous flow of several pieces woven as one.

| A Deeper Silence Steve Roach 2008 Timeroom Editions 19 (CD) Reviewed by e/i magazine, Electroambient Space, Sonic Curiosity, Sonic ImmersionThis new long-form zone billows out like a big sigh of time, breathing steady and strong. Minimal and infinite in its essence, like all of Steve's long-form zones this is a functional soundworld specifically created to enhance the atmosphere of your personal sanctuary, your living environment and beyond. Lower volume playback increases the potency. This sound space serves as a kind of portal to states of subtle awareness, and is perfect for the support of deeper sleeping as well.

magnify | Afterlight Steve Roach 2009 Timeroom Editions 21 (CD) Reviewed by Signal to NoiseAfter the stillness comes the AFTERLIGHT. Created in the Spring of 2009, in the afterglow of DYNAMIC STILLNESS, this long-form piece delivers the listener deep inside a multi-dimensional realm of forming clouds, an endless expanse with no boundaries or sense of temporal limits. Amorphous strands of harmonic lumina emerge and recede in a constant unfolding and reconfiguring state for the duration of this pure atmospheric suspension. This piece, along with its two companion releases DESTINATION BEYOND and IMMERSION: FOUR were created over the the same time period, and all share a common sense of breath, interconnection and pursuit of timelessness. Refined over several months, the piece was kept in constant low-volume playback during sleep, rest and times of reflection. The ongoing experience of living with the piece, and shaping it before its release into the world, has become a vital part of Steve's immersion process, going back to 1984's STRUCTURES FROM SILENCE.

Shapero, David Rush, Electroambient Space, e|i magazine, Morpheus Music, Progression Magazine, Sonic CuriosityA deep zoneworld of glacial movement and magma-like flow, no beginning, no end... you have just been dropped off in a far corner of space, and what's that I hear? Imagine STRUCTURES FROM SILENCE emanating from a point far beyond. If a Mark Rothko painting could make sound, this might be it... 74 minutes x repeat mode = a severe change in atmospheric conditions... and possible hypnogogic states. Created September, 2002. This minimal, immersive sound environment can be considered a prelude to MYSTIC CHORDS & SACRED SPACES.

EARLY MAN brings into form an ancient landscape of bubbling pools and steamy marshlands, verdant arroyos and monolithic rock formations. Cave paintings and ancient memories come to life in a slow soul-dance of evolutionary magic. The accolades from press and listeners alike tell that EARLY MAN belongs to Roach's classic body of work which includes DREAMTIME RETURN, ORIGINS, THE MAGNIFICENT VOID and last year's quietly successful MIDNIGHT MOON.

Disc one, "Circadian Rhythms" explores a sensual flow of harmonic suspension and sparse melodic mantra-like patterns hovering over rhythmic spaces and mercurial zones. Opening up within an organic analog modular garden of sound, a pulsing undulating groove spiral emerges, creating a suspended sensation of constant flow while hovering in the now. "Circadian Rhythms" moves through a continuous 73-minute flow in three phases.

magnify | Immersion: Four Steve Roach 2009 Timeroom Editions 22 (CD) Reviewed by Signal to NoiseAfter months of distillation, IMMERSION: FOUR has been released from its vessel in a slow and steady flow, as if streaming forth from an infinite sound fountain. IMMERSION: FOUR embraces the senses with the warmth and micro subtle perceptual shifts that has defined the Immersion series. No beginning, no end, designed for infinite playback mode, IMMERSION: FOUR is a steady state zone created specifically as a tone meditation, enhancing the living space as sonic incense. Gently immersive and especially effective at low volume, the non-dynamic nature of this space supports focused day and night activities. The Immersion series is perfect for creative states, sleeping, reading, long hours at the computer and other functions where traditional music could be considered invasive.

On this 73 minute, long-form soundscape, a sinuous weblike mist seems to emanate from the speakers. Mysterious yet calm and introspective, this is the perfect sound environment for the deeper hours after midnight, or anytime a quiet, engulfing audio landscape is desired. Shapero, Ambient Musings, Beneath the Icy Floe, Deep Listenings, Disquiet, Echoes, Eclectic Earwig Reviews, Electroambient Space, e|i magazine, Morpheus Music, Sonic Curiosity, Sputnik Music, Synth Music Direct, Wind and WireMYSTIC CHORDS & SACRED SPACES is truly among the creme de la creme of Steve's distinct work. It is an astonishing series of recordings. At times I found myself facing the darkest of the dark in the collective unconscious. Just as I thought I had reached the edge of where I could go in my voyaging, a tonal shift would occur and carry me into a delicious and heart-achingly beautiful space of unparalleled hope and faith. These recordings are both initiatory, and a veritable soul-retrieval in this time of widespread soul loss. In essence, this is healing sound. Arranged as a collection of four discs, each is a stand-alone musicscape experience. Yet, as a full collection MYSTIC CHORDS & SACRED SPACES is nothing short of initiation, each disk building upon the energy of the previous one, opening out into vast domains and vistas, carrying us deep into subterranean realms of luminosity. MYSTIC CHORDS & SACRED SPACES is a vibrant topography, a map leading us to the dwelling places of sentient and divine energy." -- Frank MacEowen, author of From the Celtic Dreamtime, The Mist-Filled Path, and Chasing The Deer

| Slow Heat Steve Roach 1998 Timeroom Editions 1 (CD) Reviewed by Exposé, Progressive World, The Raging Consciousness DeskThis is the first release in a Special Edition series that continues in the spirit of the infinite playback sound-world environments explored on THE DREAM CIRCLE and "To The Threshold of Silence" from WORLD'S EDGE. SLOW HEAT rises and falls, breathes in and exhales a constant flow of calming influence. Shaped over two summers of evaluation on Steve's patio playback system, the sounds of the warm desert nights were found to be in perfect tune to the sound-world playing back for hours on the speakers outdoors. These sounds were recorded by stretching 50 foot mic cables from the Timeroom out into the desert night, capturing a pure moment of natural magic to be included in the piece. Perhaps no other long-form piece from Steve has placed the listener in such an intimate and subtle expression of the sensual nature of the desert atmosphere.
