Dreamtime Return by Darren Bergstein, e|i magazine July 2005 Other than the few sharp folks who knew Steve Roach and his rapidly evolving music, many who noticed DREAMTIME RETURN when it hit the racks in 1988 thought it simply another venerable "new age" tome, unsure what to make of it all. Were they in for one rude awakening. Sprawling, technologically immaculate, utterly evocative of past/future, a magnum opus imaginative as all-get out, and more influential than most post-baby boomer laptopdogs will admit, the record damn well blew out the barricades then, and having now been further expanded in a definitive new edition, time hasn't contracted its thrust one iota. It's the Return of the king.
